
ow ever much you know about computers and programming, you must forget in regards to this Short Model, except in the very broadest terms. No matter that referring to the digital nature of Ultimate Reality makes you think of computers like we have here on the Earth as a model for Ultimate Reality, you must change your thinking. While there are some basic similarities as in "memory" and references in Thomas Campbell's trilogy, "My Big TOE" to "the Big Computer" and the "Even Bigger Computer", there are very basic differences and not just in scale or capabilities. The computer that sits on your desk shares a basic architectural design with super computers that you might find in government agencies or research organizations, but nothing on earth has an architecture like Ultimate Reality. Computers as we know them here on "earth" have an architecture based on several different parts with different functions working together to do what computers do. There will be one or perhaps more CPU's or Central Processing Units but even in the most powerful super computers there will be no more than a few thousands of CPU's operating in "parallel" with special supervisory hardware or programs that coordinate them. CPU's are also pre-designed to perform a limited number of logical and mathematical operations and perform what are known as instruction sets. They have a limited number of "registers" where data is stored briefly to be "operated on": added, subtracted, multiplied, logically compared and such. There are a lot more complications but this covers the basics. The data that computers operate on and the programs which tell them what operations to perform are stored in "memory", normally in separate areas, which can be electronic circuitry for fastest access to the data or on "hard drives" which are electrical / mechanical devices that are not nearly so fast but can store more and for longer times, even when the computer shuts down. There are also a few dedicated memory busses, essentially wires in parallel with controlling circuitry, which transfer data around under program control from CPU to memory, to the hard drive and so forth. The bottom line is that earthly computers can do only a very limited number of things at one time and nothing that they have not been built specifically for and pre-programmed to do. They appear to be doing more than one thing at a time by switching from task to task in a loop and because they are very fast compared to our "biological" bodies.

he computational architecture of Ultimate Reality, ignoring the fact that we do not really know the precise details, is clearly much different. The first major difference is that there is inherently no CPU. The very most basic structure of the One ~ Ultimate Reality has basic computational ability. That is how random variations can grow, interact and propogate as required in the bootstrapping operation from Void to Being. That is not to say that there are not areas within Ultimate Reality which have developed into structures equivalent to powerful Central Processing Units. There are also areas which function as memory and very possibly areas which perform somewhat the same function as hard disk drives for longer term and less frequently accessed memory. But these are capabilities inherent to or "emulated" by the natural "fine structure" that is the original and most basic nature of Ultimate Reality, not fabricated to perform a fixed command set or function. Ultimate Reality is inherently massively parallel with computational ability distributed all over the place, essentially everywhere. This raises another difference in that the Existence Field has communciation capabilities built into its nature so that communciation busses are functionally created ad hoc rather than existing as permanent structures. Again that isn't to say that there are not dedicated structures acting as communciation busses for special purposes, just that Ultimate Reality is not dependent on "wiring" to connect things together.

he next most obvious difference in functioning is that Ultimate Reality is self programming. Over a sufficiently long time (actually after a sufficient number of cycles since time isn't natural to Ultimate Reality) and with the operation and the interaction of the Primary Processes / First Principles, God ~ Ultimate Reality is self programming. That is, using the worst case as an example, some collection of random 0's and 1's, random data, random commands is jammed together and starts banging up against some adjacent instances of similar random origin and composition. Over time, some dissipates, is destroyed or is otherwise done away with. What is left is still a mess but has been selected out by trial and error and actually does something. So the program and the data and the computational ability all reside intermixed in the same digital fine structure that makes Ultimate Reality what it is. All distributed throughout the whole of the fabric of Ultimate Reality. And although it may be suppressed now or in certain areas to avoid interruption of established functioning, originally self programming by random interactions, as just described, operated upon by the Primary Evolutionary Process balanced against the Primary Organizing Process acted to create the One from the Void. If an "earthly" computer could sit powered up forever, it would never self program, regardless of any foolishness shown as science fiction or fantasy on television or in movies or books. Anything other than sitting there going around in the same purposeless circle of waiting in an idle state would be a matter of malfunction and result from the failure of the computer. Also, there need not be any instruction set and fixed languages in Ultimate Reality. This is a natural system developing from, at base, random processes. I have previously referred readers to a web site where they can experience a simulation of something like the original random processes. There will be a vast number of "programming languages" used by different digital intelligences. Or there will be none and the code will exist and operate just because it does; it happened that way. Once a piece of digital code that performs some useful function develops, it is likely to be duplicated and reused frequently. The amount of useless "code" within such a naturally developing function is likely to be high. There may in fact be standards for code creation now and certain preferred "languages" as we have developed for programming earth's computers or preferred pre-existing functions to be reused as required, but there will be a vast amount of code which has not been upgraded to these standards. Things which aren't broken are likely to be left unfixed, no matter how inefficient, other than being left to the Second principle for entropy reduction on a gradual basis. This difference from computer programming on Earth is probably the greatest difference that exists.

omputer programs even here on earth are so large now that they are incomprehensible in total to one person. They have "bugs" or errors despite all efforts to create programs without them. Naturally developed code based on the First Principle (that is, with random elements) will have a great deal of redundancy and just plain junk code that does nothing or is never referenced so the need for entropy reduction as described earlier should be clear even to someone unexposed to computers and programming here on earth, given some thought. Even beings native to Ultimate Reality at its highest levels with their vast capabilities will be faced with a nearly impossible task if they attempted to scan, understand and clean up their own "code". Think of examining and understanding every element of your own genetic code and fixing any errors! It took years of effort by teams of scientists using the fastest super computers just to list the basics of the human genome, much less figure out how it works and even dream about fixing anything that is broken! And note also, there is a great deal of redundant and junk code found in natural DNA because of mutations, genetic damage from external causes ranging from sunlight to toxic chemicals and also from just plain errors in complex chemical reactions. Keep all the above in mind when you consider the concept of entropy and what it means and why you might want to reduce it within the One and the native residents.
