Short Modeel of Reality:

ne aspect of our souls true existence which must be considered with added emphasis because it is so far outside of our normal concept of reality is that motion and other perceptions are only apparent. All of our perceptions are in fact "virtual" perceptions of "virtual realities". You will come to see that nearly every aspect of the lives we see ourselves living are in fact virtual, an appearance and perception difference from the "bald reality". You will also see that this is true from every point of view but in the end, makes no difference to our sense of reality. Like the sense of vision for our physical bodies, apparent motion and other perceptions exist only as a model of a physical reality, not as a part or aspect of a "real" physical reality "out there". We, when we experience ourselves as being "in" our physical bodies, do not see with our eyes, we see with our brains or more properly, our minds. Our eyes generate nerve impulses which are transferred to special areas of our brains where they are processed and generate what we "see". Our retinas do not have uniform densities of the nerve cells which sense the incoming light. We have an area in each eye (the focal point) where the density is much higher than the rest of our retinas. Our individual light sensing cells must "look" through a maze of capillaries with blood cells passing by. The view of any given cell is periodically blocked. In addition, we may have defective areas in our retinas which produce no output. Our brains and optical nervous systems filter all this out, combine the light field as sensed by cone cells sensing different color (frequency) ranges of light and rod cells sensing different light intensities without color to generate our sense of color, light and darkness and adjust as necessary to provide us with what seems to be a more or less undistorted field of view. So our eyes are only part of the vision process and we "see with our brains". As a further illustration of the real nature of vision, if a person dons and wears special goggles with inverting prisms for lenses, they initially see everything as upside down. After a period of hours of accommodation, they will undergo a transition in their perceptions and find them self seeing everything right side up again. Somewhere in the visual perception system, a transition has been made to compensate for the inverting goggles. If the goggles are then removed, the person suddenly goes back to an inverted visual field, despite the normal visual path now being restored, until the previous accommodation is again reversed and they again see normally, right side up. Also do not forget that our brains are part of the virtual reality which we sense as a physical reality.

his may become more believable and understandable if you think about the senses of taste and smell. While we think of taste as one sense and smell as another, taste as generated by our taste buds on our tongues relates only to four basic "dimensions" of taste which include sour, sweet, salty and bitter. To obtain the full dimension of the sense that we think of as taste, our brains add in the input from sensors in our internal nasal passages which are sensing chemicals given off in gasses and vapors as we eat, without directly touching the solid or liquid parts of the food. These sensors are "tasting" food "flavors" coming up from our mouths by the back way into our nasal passages. So our sense of taste is not as we commonly think it to be but rather a construct of our brains, uniting our real sense of taste seamlessly and invisibly with our sense of smell. Our brains must make note that we have nothing in our mouth or that something we sense is not likely to be associated with the food we are actually eating to say that we smell what we are sensing rather than tasting it. Clearly this represents a model of a sense of taste and a sense of smell rather than a true representation of the capabilities of the "hardware" provided by our bodies which are virtual simulations of a physical reality anyway.

imilarly, our souls perceive whatever they can with their internal models of reality coupled to their internal mechanisms for pattern matching between this internal model and the external reality as represented by incoming data packets and for adding to this internal model of reality. Part of the perception of our souls is their perception of the visual field created by our brains. Vision is thus a shared capability. Our physical bodies / brains create a visual field which is perceived by and becomes a part of our souls perceptions. We can learn to experience our souls' perceptions to some extent. Some have unexpectedly switched completely to this perception and been very disconcerted to find that their perception of their self, their "ego". has been greatly altered or in fact disappeared. Suzanne Seagle had her sense of "I" or her "ego" completely disappear and her point of perception shift to a point outside of her physical body. Yet she, and others experiencing similar perception shifts, have continued to act and to act appropriately, not just in the sense of not making mistakes or stumbling in some way, literally or figuratively, but in the sense of maintaining their normal lives, activities and relationships without their normal perception of consciousness and decision making that runs continuously through their conscious focus and is though of as "I". To act, to do, without taking conscious thought and planning the action. Note that this is the goal of the martial artist who must respond to an opponent on a time scale which precludes conscious analysis as our nervous systems take a certain amount of time to respond. Are you aware of how our nervous systems are hard wired to make some limited responses while bypassing our brains in the case of being burned on an extremity? Your motor response will, for instance, take a shortened nerve path and pull your hand out of the fire before your brain can even receive the pain signal, much less respond. It is also something which you, if you drive a vehicle, must do on a regular basis as so many aspects of this activity require actions to respond to situations, even non-emergency situations, faster than you could possibly do so by consciously taking thought and deciding on an action. How many times have you taken a routine journey, perhaps to or from your place of work, and realized upon arrival that you have no conscious memory of the trip. It is not that unusual for humans to experience perceptions that, if they thought about it, are not really commensurate with their bodies abilities. That is why "psi" phenomena are as common as they are. They are contrarily as uncommon as they are because we are conditioned to not notice these things.

t present, at least as normal incarnated human beings, we have no clue as to what is going on here other than logical extrapolation from what little we know, if we even take note of the aspects of perception which don't match the capabilities of purely physical bodies. This aspect of Reality has been known for centuries by Explorers who have made contact directly with this aspect of the One. We are in fact part of a vast array of interconnected "souls" in a motionless state with everything we "perceive" actually consisting of the models we are generating of an "external reality" which is not really "out there" and information received over a communication network of fantastic capabilities. God ~ Ultimate Reality literally "Dreaming" it all. This vast array is frequently visualized as consisting of "Jewels of Consciousness", each jewel reflecting all of the other jewels in the net in its own facets, has been referred to as Indra's Net. Contact with this aspect of Ultimate Reality is relatively widely reported by Mystics of all traditions. The hypertext link to Indra's Net is to an on line version of the
Avatamsaka Sutra (The Flower Garland Sutra) which is a traditional Buddhist Sutra within which Indra's Net is described. This aspect of Ultimate Reality is mentioned, but not emphasized as I have done here, by Thomas Campbell in "My Big TOE", Book 2, pages 358 and 359. After considering this in light of the rest of this model of reality, you will see that being part of Indra's Net doesn't make any difference to us other than simplifying and clarifying what we know as our primary existence. This permits us to focus on our more limited version of reality and better participate in the associated educational process. The way our true soul perceptions work, everything is simulated as something other than what it really is. Every reality of the several we can operate in are virtual realities. The rest of this model discusses other aspects of this but our perceptions of "virtual realities" are constructed as if "out there" versus "in here" really exists for each of us as souls. All of the virtual realities we participate in are part of devices developed by the One to turn a very low stimulation environment into a rapidly moving and responding environment where we can develop the quality of our being much more quickly. The "Mother of All Video Games" perhaps? Or perhaps think of it in comparison with being connected to a television cable system. We each have an incoming cable feed but there are filters on it and you only get the channels or the Internet if you have paid for them. If you put in the mental and spiritual development work required in payment, you can graduate to greater numbers and higher level channels. You can connect to the Universal Communication Web of the One. Don't be upset with concerns about unreality and what is real. What it comes down to is that everything is as real as everything else: a dream by the One, the Mind of God.

Row, Row, Row your boat, gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, verily, Life is but a . . . Dream of wild strawberriers for your enjoyment as you hang over the edge of Ultimate Reality by one hand.
